George Antoni is primarily self taught. Although he briefly studied art at a college of further education in London, he also had an interest in drama. A three year course at East Fifteen Acing School lead to an extensive career in theatre, film and TV. It was only with the move to Brighton on the south coast that he took up painting again, inspired by the expansive sky and ever changing seascapes. The influence of coastal life is still evident in his current paintings.

The work is essentially experimental. He starts with only a loose idea of what he wants the piece to be, often drawing on several inspirations simultaneously and embracing that which happens accidentally.
